Introducing the new Audi Q2Back

AudiQ22The new Audi Q2 is the latest model to join Audi’s popular Q line-up, and available to order in the UK from August 2016. Below, Trusted Dealers take a look at some of the features we can expect from this exciting new model.

The Audi Q2 has been created as a compact SUV to rival cars such as the new BMW X2. It’s the fourth Audi Q model in the line-up and although it displays the family genes and technological assets, the bold and powerful design of the new Q2 has taken on a new direction.

The new Audi Q2 is the company’s first crossover, the team at Audi have taken the compact SUV and given it a bold new styling that’s designed to appeal to a younger generation. In addition, Audi has adopted the connectivity, infotainment and assistance systems found on some of its larger Audi models.

Design AudiQ2

The new Audi Q2 shows a lot of vertices and edges in its design. The front showcases a high-mounted singleframe grille. Another eye-catching feature is the low roof that merges into the C-pillars with colour offset blades. The vehicle measures 1.51 metres tall and 1.79 metres wide.

Technology is borrowed from some of the larger Audi models, to include the Audi pre sense front with pedestrian recognition which comes as standard, adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function, traffic jam assist, a lane departure warning system, traffic sign recognition and rear cross-traffic assist.

The Q2 comes with a standard MMI screen positioned high on the instrument panel. The infotainment system is operated by a rotary/push-button control and two buttons on the centre tunnel. For an additional cost, customers can order MMI navigation plus with MMI touch to receive a touchpad on the central control element.

The Q2 displays the fundamental qualities of an SUV with a high entry, good visibility and a large luggage compartment (405 to 1,050 litres of capacity), however, the driver’s seat is quite low and more similar to an Audi saloon. Additional practical options include a power tailgate and a three-way split rear bench backrest with cargo through-loading.

The Q2 is launching in the UK with an initial choice of two four-cylinder engines – the 1.6 TDI with 115PS and the Cylinder-on-Demand 1.4 TFSI with 150PS. A three-cylinder 1.0 TFSI with 115PS and a four-cylinder 2.0 TDI with 150PS will become available later in the year. As an alternative to the six-speed manual transmission, Audi will also offer the S tronic dual clutch transmission with seven speeds for all engines bar the 1.0 TFSI (standard for the 2.0 TDI).

Three specifications are available on the new Q2, and entry-level SE versions benefit from plenty of features as standard to include Audi smartphone interface, a Bluetooth interface, the MMI radio plus with MMI controller and heated, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors. For an additional £1,550, Sport models offer extras such as 17-inch alloy wheels, Audi drive select with five operational modes and sport seats upholstered in cloth. Stand-out features on S line models – priced at £2,250 above Sport – include the hallmark front, side and rear styling enhancements, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps with LED rear lights and dynamic sweeping rear indicators and front sport seats upholstered in cloth/leather upholstery with S embossing on the backrests.

The new Audi Q2 is available to order in the UK from August 2016 and priced from £20,230. First deliveries will be fulfilled in November.
