Nissan Congratulates Olympian Max Whitlock With The Gold LEAFBack

GoldLeafGiveaway1The Olympic Games 2016 in Rio are in full swing and this weekend Team GB celebrated their fifteenth gold medal of the Games, putting them second in the table.

Yesterday has now been dubbed ‘Sensational Sunday’ at the Olympics following Team GB winning no less than five gold medals on their best day at an overseas Olympics ever.

Gymnast Max Whitlock achieved a historic double win whilst Justin Rose secured a golf victory and cyclist Jason Kenny defeated team-mate Callum Skinner for his fifth title. The truly epic day ended with Andy Murray winning his second gold medal in the tennis.

It was announced prior to the Games by Sir Chris Hoy that Nissan ambassadors who won a gold medal at Rio would win an all-gold LEAF, and following his medal triumph yesterday, Max Whitlock has now become one of the first Team GB athletes to win the 100% electric Nissan LEAF.

The Nissan ambassador made headlines around the world when he took two gold medals – securing gold on the floor and pommel horse. In recognition of his astonishing achievement, Nissan will now present him with the keys to a LEAF completely wrapped in brilliant bright gold – on his return to the UK.

Features of the all-electric Nissan LEAF include:GoldLeafGiveaway

  • Easy, fun and comfortable to drive
  • Cheap to run – it runs on 100% battery power
  • Reliable thanks to the Nissan badge
  • Spacious – there’s plenty of room for families
  • Exempt from road tax and congestion charges
  • An affordable all-electric option

Nissan, the official automotive partner of Team GB and Paralympics GB  has promised that all Nissan Ambassadors returning from Rio with a gold medal will be presented with a gold Nissan LEAF, making it one of the most limited edition Nissan models ever.

Along with the rest of Great Britain, the company has so far been delighted by the success of its other competing ambassador athletes, including first gold LEAF winner – rower George Nash, for his win in the men’s coxless-four.

Chris Marsh, Marketing Director at Nissan Motor (GB), said: “Max has been a Nissan ambassador since we first launched our partnership with Team GB and so many of us at Nissan have had the pleasure of working with him and getting to know him as he prepared for the biggest sporting night of his life.

“We are all so proud to have him associated with Nissan and he’s the perfect person to be a recipient of one of our gold LEAFs.”

One of the gold wrapped Nissan LEAFs is on display at the Nissan Innovation Station at The 02. For more information about the Nissan LEAF click here.
