Used Ford Kuga Takes Top SpotBack

The Ford Kuga was the UK’s fastest selling used car last month, taking just 20 days to sell.

New data from new and used car specialist Auto Trader revealed that the 2016 petrol manual Ford Kuga was the fastest used car to sell in November, marking the second consecutive month that Ford has topped the leader board. In October, the 2016 Ford Ka was the fastest used car to sell.

In second and third place behind the Ford Kuga was the 2015 Hyundai ix35 (petrol manual) and the 2014 Hyundai i10 (petrol manual) which both took an average of 21 days to leave UK forecourts. Also featured in the top ten fastest selling cars was the 2015 Hyundai Tucson (diesel manual) and the 2014 Hyundai i30 ( petrol manual) marking a strong month for the South Korean manufacturer.

With winter in full swing, it’s no surprise that three SUV cars featured in the national top 10 list. In addition to the Ford Kuga and the Hyundai Tucson was the 2013 Audi Q3 (diesel manual) which was the fourth fastest selling used car taking an average of just 23 days to sell.

So, why is the 2016 Ford Kuga so popular?

  • Not only are SUVs one of the most popular cars on the market, many motorists are keen tobuy into Ford’s great reputation for producing sound, reliable, reasonably priced cars.
  • Choose the 1.5-litre petrol engine to benefit from a smooth, impressively hushed ride.
  • The 2016 Kuga sports the newer Sync 3 infotainment system on all but the entry-level Zetec model, which produces overall a much improved, easier to use system.
  • You can opt for a standard Kuga and benefit from a decent level of equipment without paying over the odds for it. The entry-level Zetec model comes with cruise control, a digital radio, Bluetooth, a heated windscreen, air con and keyless entry.
  • The Ford Kuga demonstrates excellent body control, meaning you’ll always feel well in control of the car and as a consequence it will be more fun to drive.
  • The Kuga demonstrates good fuel economy; you can expect 45mpg from the petrol model or as high as 64mpg from the 1.5-litre diesel.
  • The Kuga demonstrates good value for money – it may be more expensive to buy than some rivals such as the Nissan Qashqai or the Seat Ateca, but it’s cheaper than the Mazda CX-5 and comes with a better level of equipment than rivals for the price you’ll pay.
  • Resale values are strong for Ford cars in general and the Kuga is no exception.
