The new Bentley Continental GT Speed is said to be making its debut at the Festival of Speed in Goodwood, Chichester.
The Festival begins on the 28th of June and concludes on the 1st of July, it is the largest motoring event in the world and brings motor sport ‘royalty’ together with a variety of stars cars. The event has been described as “petrol head Nirvana” as it brings current Formula 1 cars, supercars, dragsters, steam powered carriages, classic rally cars. The atmosphere of the event is a joy for all lovers of motoring and has something for all the family, but most of all speed!
The event is sponsored heavily by Bentley and will exhibit a variety of their cars, past and present, there will also be the release of the new Continental GT Speed at the event. The new model is equipped with the 48-valve, four cam, W12 turbocharged engine, and is capable of reaching 0-60mph in just 4.0 seconds with a top speed of an astonishing 205mph. In comparison to this the GT Speeds predecessor, the 2007-10 Continental GT Speed was only able to reach 0-60mph in 4.3 seconds.
The new model has an 8-speed ZF gearbox whereas its predecessor was equipped with a 6-speed ZF gearbox. The suspension and steering on the new model has also been improved, see the improvements for yourself as the new GT Speed will be making two high speed runs of the Goodwood hill climb track. The Continental GT Speed delivers the performance of a supercar with absolutely no compromise on comfort.
If you aren’t quite up to the Bentley bracket yet, here are a few suggestions that supply both speed and comfort. For example the Jaguar XJ provides both speed and comfort at a much lower cost than that of the Bentley, as does the Mercedes Benz CL-Class.
