Choose a panoramic roof for spectacular illuminationsBack

The clocks have just gone back, so now is a great time to visit one of the UK’s most famous cities, Blackpool, and witness the amazing illuminations running until 6th November 2011.

The Blackpool illuminations are held every year for a set period of time during the autumn months. At ten kilometres long and using over one million bulbs the Blackpool Illuminations provide a spectacular scene for visitors to watch and admire.

One of the many ways you can view the illuminations is from the comfort of your own car, and some of the best cars to view the illuminations are those which include a panoramic roof.

Panoramic roofs have become an increasingly popular option for motorists who favour a light and airy looking cabin, and Trusted Dealers has listed some of the most popular cars below.

Peugeot 308 SW

The Peugeot 308 SW is a firm favourite when it comes to panoramic roofs. Not only does it offer a vast glass roof, it can also seat up to seven people and has a huge load space too. SW stands for Station Wagon and this is certainly true of the 308 which can pack plenty in, terms of people and luggage. The rear seats will also fold flat to further increase the boot space.

Renault Scenic

The Renault scenic has been referred to as one of the best compact MPVs which money can buy. There is also a Grand Scenic version which will seat seven people if required. Both models create a spacious and airy cabin thanks to a huge glass windscreen, a low window line and the option of a panoramic roof if required. The Scenic also benefits from sliding and folding rear seats and sliding doors to maximise access capabilities.

Alfa Romeo Brera

The Alfa Romeo Brera is a luxurious, Italian car which is run and exciting to drive. It offers plenty in terms of performance and is suitable for four adults, although we’d probably recommend it as a better two seater which will free up the boot space considerably. The Brera used to come with a panoramic roof as standard, but now you’ll have to pay an additional fee for the privilege. It’s certainly worth it though as it adds a great deal of spaciousness to the look and feel of the cabin.

Smart Fortwo

Panoramic roofs come as an option on all Smart cars, but if you opt for a pulse or passion model of Fortwo model then it will come as standard. But make sure that if you opt for a panoramic roof, you also pay extra for air conditioning as you’ll find that a such as tiny car can get very over-heated in the summer months.

Opting for a panoramic roof on any car is a good option as it looks stylish and will light up even the dullest of cabins. But it’s well worth checking that your roof is covered by your insurance as part of your overall glass cover.
