This month, Citroen UK released its latest #ParkingHero survey data which provides drivers with an insight into UK parking behaviour during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year.
Despite Christmas being an expensive time of year, the biggest expense for drivers might not be the latest gadget or toy. Statistics from the survey reveal that half of the drivers questioned admitted to pranging a car when parking then driving off, leaving the innocent party with an unexpected Christmas repair bill.
Furthermore, when questioned, almost 50% of UK drivers believed it was more likely they would get their car damaged in the supermarket car park than anywhere else. The sentiment was shared by drivers of all ages across the country with multi-storey car parks being second popular at 28% and off street parking in third place with 17% of the public fearing their car will sustain scrapes in this type of location.
In fact, 63% of drivers have admitted that when searching for a perfect parking space, they will often opt for spaces that don’t have cars nearby.
In response to this year’s findings, Citroen UK has launched a #ParkingHero campaign aimed at building confidence and parking skills amongst drivers. The campaign highlights the issues UK drivers face on a daily basis when parking and demonstrates the importance of parking-aid technology.
As well as producing a campaign launch film with the New C4 Cactus http://youtu.be/etHieSMnZvc, Citroën UK has worked with the IAM to create a series of four educational films, which feature three Arsenal Football Club stars and the New Citroën C1, to provide some top parking tips for drivers.
