Results of the industry’s top tweeters were obtained by trusted analyst Klout.com, a website which scores social media users according to their influence.
The study looked at independent motor traders and franchised dealer groups and researched each company’s influence to reveal the motor trade’s top tweeters.
To obtain an accurate score, a number is given between one and 100 which takes into consideration a user’s interaction on Twitter – the higher the number, the more influential the user.
Topping the list was Evans Halshaw with a score of 65, following by Perry’s in second place with 64 and Mercedes-Benz Retail in third place with 61 points.
Vicky Finn, group marketing leader for Evans Halshaw, said: ‘We’re delighted to have been recognised as the most influential car dealer on Twitter. It’s great for the brand, the marketing communications team and our efforts to innovate and be market leaders.

Second placed Perrys was equally delighted with their runners up spot. Lee Manning, group digital marketing manager said: ‘Just four months ago, we began the implementation of our group-wide social media strategy, so to come second in the Top 100 Most Influential Dealers on Twitter list so soon, is a huge achievement.’
The list coincides with the launch of CarDealer magazine’s new forum, which allows the motor trade to comment on the hot topics in the industry.
