This week Arnold Clark is back with the hugely popular Gear Up For Sport competition that sees U14 teams across the UK battle it out to win brand new sports kits for their club.
During the competition Arnold Clark is also running the ‘Gear Up For Sport Challenge’ that sees well known teams across the UK taking part in a various sports challenges. Throughout the competition a variety of sports teams will take on a Gear Up For Sport Challenge to help raise awareness of the kit giveaway competition.
The Glasgow Warriors rugby team have been the first to brave the challenge at Scotstoun Stadium this week.
The Warriors’ Gear Up For Sport Challenge was a take on the cross bar challenge with a rugby twist! The players each had to decide whether to kick or throw the ball (depending on their skills) aiming for the cross bar.
Glasgow Warriors captain Al Kellock said: ‘As a club we are looking to do as much as possible in our local community and Arnold Clark’s Gear Up For Sport is a great initiative for us to get involved in.
‘We already have a close relationship with Arnold Clark, through Harry Fairbairn BMW and we’re really excited about getting involved in this competition.
The more we can do in our local community to get kids active the better it is for everyone.’
The Glasgow Warriors became involved with Gear Up For Sport initiative through their relationship with Harry Fairbairn BMW, part of the Arnold Clark group.
Eddie Hawthorne, Managing Director of Arnold Clark commented, ‘The fact that a team such as the Glasgow Warriors are behind our Gear Up For Sport campaign means we can hopefully reach the audience who will really benefit from the competition.
Gear Up For Sport is an initiative that looks to bring sport and communities together. The Glasgow Warriors reflect this in the work done through their Glasgow Warriors Community programme. As a UK-wide group, we see how tirelessly local sports clubs close to our dealerships work to raise funds for their kit. As a way to support that, we’ve doubled the prize fund to 200 team kits this year and look forward to seeing the creative entries that the teams come up with.’
Through Gear Up For Sport, Arnold Clark is giving away 200 kits to U14 school and community sports teams across the UK. The competition is open to any team of U14s in the following sports; rugby, netball, football, basketball and cricket. A total of 3000 individual sports strips are being given away by the car dealer.
The competition began on Monday 16th March and teams have until 27th April to enter a creative team photo to firstname.lastname@example.org. Arnold Clark will select 40 finalists per region and voting will commence online from 11th May. The 200 winning teams will be announced on the 10th of June at arnoldclark.com/gearupforsport.
The only question left is are you ready to Gear Up For Sport?
