Following on from the hugely successful ‘The Motherhood’ rap which was recently posted by the team at Fiat, after popular demand, Fiat has launched another new film on YouTube that tells the “no-holds barred truth” about life as a new Dad.
‘The Fatherhood’ is set in the dead of night and follows a weary Dad-of-two who is trying to get his screaming babies to sleep by driving them around the neighbourhood. As he drives, he starts to sing about his long-lost youth and questions how he’s gone from Jack the Lad to Jack the Dad.
The Fatherhood provides a humorous insight into the mind of a new dad and was inspired by a survey of the UK which revealed that new parents actually drive an average of 1,300 miles a year in an attempt to get their little ones to sleep.
The film is the second one issued by Fiat in a year and follows on from the first film, The Motherhood, which was released in 2012 and proved to be a huge hit with mums across the globe. The Motherhood film told the story of a Mum swapping her designer clutch bag for a “snot-stained sack” and has already been watched by more than three and a half million viewers.
The Fatherhood features the new Fiat 500L which is the newest addition to the Fiat 500 family. The new Fiat 500L is aimed at style-conscious young families who are looking for a car that not only meets their practical needs but is also fun to drive with a quirky personality.
With five doors and 400 litres of boot space, the new Fiat 500L is substantially larger than the Fiat 500 whilst still sharing its iconic looks and personality, making it an attractive option for young parents who are looking for a stylish car suited to family life.
The Fiat 500L will be available with a choice of four low emissions engines with Start&Stop as standard on TwinAir and MultiJet engines. As a family car, it offers excellent occupant protection including as standard, six airbags, ABS, the sophisticated ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and several other functions that improve the safety of the vehicle, and it has been awarded a Euro NCAP five-star safety rating.
Elena Bernardelli, Marketing Director, Fiat Group Automobiles UK, said: “After the phenomenal success of The Motherhood we were inundated with requests to see Dad’s side of the story.
“As with The Motherhood, we wanted Dads everywhere to watch The Fatherhood and nod along to the story we’re telling. Just like the Fiat 500L, we hope The Fatherhood will bring a bit of fun into people’s everyday lives.”
The new Fiat 500L range is available from £14,990 for the 1.4 petrol Pop Star or Easy, rising to £18,890 for the 1.6 MultiJet Lounge. The Fatherhood – it’s a Dad’s life is available to watch now on youtube.com/fiatUK.
