The new 65-plate registration plate is now available, so if you’re thinking about buying a new car, Trusted Dealers is reminding buyers there are some great deals available, providing you haggle hard and hold your nerve!
September is one of the busiest months of the year for new car sales thanks to the arrival of the new plate, and this year’s 65-plate promises to be just as popular.
This week, Trusted Dealers is advising buyers to be wise and make sure you don’t end up paying over the odds for a new car – there are still plenty of deals to be done!
In September 2014, 425, 861 new cars were registered which signified a rise of 5.6% on the same month in 2013. In total UK car sales have now risen for 41 consecutive months as the economy begins to rebound.
But despite the rise in car deals, there are still plenty of deals available on new cars providing you do your homework. What Car? Target price team has revealed some of the biggest discounts include savings of more than £14,000 on a BMW Actvehybrid 7 SE or over £7000 off a Volvo S80 2.0 D4 SE Lux S/S.
But despite the temptation to rush into a dealership right now, if you’re considering buying a new car this month, make sure you hold your nerve and enter into any negotiations with your eyes and ears wide open. This way you should be able to secure the best price available on your new car.
Whatcar.com editor, Jim Holder, said: “While dealers will naturally try and capitalise on the arrival of the new reg plate in September, there’s no reason to think that large discounts shouldn’t be available.
“The key is to do your research before you set foot in the dealership, and to drive a hard bargain every step of the way. If you know what you want and what you should pay, it’s you who should be celebrating harder than the salesman.”
