New coupes and convertibles for 2013Back

Spring has just about arrived after a long and cold winter, and if you’re considering purchasing a new coupe or convertible car for the summer, now is a great time to take a look at which new cars are going to be available over the next few months.

Take a look below at the Trusted Dealers’ pick of the best coupe cars and best convertible cars available.

Jaguar F-type: Priced from £58,500

On sale this spring is the new Jaguar F-type which is an all-new Jaguar sports car and one of 2013’s most eagerly awaited new cars. The production version of the new F-type is styled on the stunning C-X16 coupe concept which was first available to view at Frankfurt in 2011. From launch there will be 3 models available to buy which all contain rear-wheel drive and an 8-speed manual gearbox. The Jaguar is set to be launched as a convertible car initially, with a coupe model set to follow later this year. Prices start from £58,500 which makes its entry level model a rival for the Porsche Boxster, whilst the top of the range V8 model costing £79,950 will rival the Porsche 911 Cabriolet and the Aston V8 Vantage Roadster.

BMW Z4: Priced from £29,000

The BMW Z4 has received a mid-life update and the new model is set to go on sale this May. The revised model looks very similar to its predecessor but its exterior will sport new bumpers, a side indicator trim and lightlenses as well as new alloy wheels. There are also new interior trim and exterior paint options available. A new entry-level sDrive 18i model is set to join the Z4 range and will sport a 154bhp turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine which averages 41.5mpg. Prices are yet to be confirmed but the new entry-level model should drop the starting point to around £29,000.

Citroen DS3 Cabrio: Priced from £14,000

The new Citroen DS3 on sale this spring has been built to rival the Mini and Fiat 500 models – it doesn’t have a full drop-top but instead its roof contains a folding fabric section similar to the Fiat 500C. There are plenty of ways to personalise this car which include a choice of three roof fabrics as well as a wide range of colours available for the body, door mirrors and wheels. The DS3 Cabrio’s fabric roof folds electrically and can be operated while travelling at up to 74mph, and set to one of three positions: intermediate, horizontal and total. The DS3 will sport the same range of energy efficient engines, and with a weight gain of only 25kg, the new DS3 Cabrio is almost as efficient as the standard model offering CO2 emissions as low as 99g/km.

Mercedes S-Class Coupe: Priced from £70,000

Built as a replacement for the popular Mercedes S-Class CL and based on the new S-Class saloon, you’ll have to wait quite until December to get your hands on this new coupe from Mercedes-Benz. The new S-Class coupe will sport a sleeker look than the saloon and is likely to be offered with a smaller range of engines which will possibly include the S-Class’s four-cylinder diesel engine. A convertible version is also likely to be available in the future which will be a proper four-seater with a fabric roof.
