New SKODA Octavia Scout revealedBack

ScodaOctaviaScout1The new SKODA Octavia Scout has just been revealed a head of its world debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show held in early March 2014.

Described by SKODA as a “robust all-rounder (with a) distinctive off-road look, innovative all-wheel drive, the best driving performance and high versatility on and off the road”, we were keen to find out more!

Based on the Octavia Combi, the new SKODA Octavia Scout has a distinct, powerful off-road look to its exterior. The front of the car has a wide air intake and sharply embossed fog lights whilst both the front and rear sport black bumpers with silver-coloured off-road attachments.

The door sills and wheel arches are also created in black panelling and ground clearance on the new Octavia Scout has increased by 33 millimetres compared to the standard Octavia. The car comes with 17 inch alloy wheels as standard as well as a range of interior features designed especially for Scout to include a 3-spoke multi-function leather steering wheel.

SkodaOctaviaScout2The new SKODA Octavia Scout sports the latest all-wheel drive technology based on the Haldex-5 coupling and the host of new technological features help to make the new model from SKODA the best off-roader yet.

Traction has increased by 25% up to two tonnes on the Octavia Scout whilst the start-up performance and climbing power has also significantly improved to be able to master even steeper, more challenging terrain when required.

The Octavia Scout comes with a choice of two diesel and one petrol engine. Compared to the vehicle’s predecessor, the engines on the Scout are 20% more economical.

Dr. Frank Welsch, ŠKODA Member of the Board of Management for Technical Development said: “Our new model is a scout in the best sense and offers customers a unique package, comprising a striking off-road look, impressive all-wheel characteristics, plenty of space and modern safety, comfort and engine technologies. The new Octavia Scout sets new standards in the crossover-vehicle segment.”

The new ŠKODA Octavia Scout has all of the excellent values featured in the new ŠKODA Octavia whilst offering just that ‘bit more of a car’. Its outstanding space, maximum functionality, practical solutions, cutting-edge safety and comfort technology make the new Scout a strong contender in its class not to mention great value for money.
