Skoda Superb & Superb Estate RevealedBack

SkodaSuperb Details for the new Skoda Superb, the company’s best-selling car in the range, have now been revealed and we can confirm the entry-level saloon will be priced from £18,640. Orders will begin in June prior to its official debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Engine

The engine range offers buyers the option of the entry-level 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 148bhp, a 1.6-litre diesel, or two, 2.0-litre diesel engines with 148bhp and 187bhp respectively. We estimate the biggest seller to be the 1.6-litre 118bhp diesel engine capable of emitting a low 96g/km of CO2 in the efficient GreenLine trim, and only just over 100g/km in the regular manual transmission and auto-transmission versions. There will also be a top spec 276bhp turbocharged petrol engine available with dual auto transmission and four wheel drive only.

SkodaSuperb1Cabin

With the seats in place the Superb Estate boasts a maximum load capacity of 660 litres, an increase of 27 litres from its previous model and 84 litres more than the Ford Mondeo. In addition, the boot space is now accessible via a conventional hatchback and its enormous too! Rear passengers won’t notice a huge difference in legroom but they will benefit from extra shoulder room and head room. The cabin is extremely comfortable for four adults or can easily accommodate a family of five.

Equipment

The new Skoda Superb will come in 4 trim levels – the S, SE, SE-L and Laurin & Klement. Entry level Superb models will all benefit from dual-zone climate control, a 6.5in colour touchscreen in the centre of the dashboard and city emergency braking, whilst higher-spec editions will get a larger 8.0in touchscreen, MirrorLink integration with a smartphone and built-in satellite navigation. Added extras include 4G onboard wi-fi and a holder for iPads and other tablet PCs on the rear seats.

SkodaSuperbEstateWill there be an Estate version?

Yes – Skoda has just released photos and details for its new Skoda Superb Estate ahead of its launch at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The new Estate will have a maximum load volume of 1950 litres – way ahead of key rivals. Prices are expected to begin around £21,000 for the entry level model.
