Trusted Dealers celebrate the best of BritishBack

BestofBritishWith the Top Gear presenters making headlines last week for clogging up the Mall in London whilst being filmed driving some of the all-time greatest British cars, we felt it was high time to celebrate the best of British and bring to you some of our top picks on the best cars to buy which are currently made and sold in the UK.

There has never been a better time to buy a British-made car with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) recently reporting that sales of British cars rose 9 per cent in 2012 with overall output at its highest level since 2008.

In fact, many of the UK’s top-selling models are now built in Britain, so why not check out Trusted Dealer’s pick of the best of British cars to buy in 2013.

Jaguar XF

If you’re looking for a thoroughly British luxury car you cannot go far wrong with a Jaguar XF. It encompasses everything that is British in its style and performance and offers a sensational cabin packed full of luxuries to make any trip an easy one. To drive, it offers sensational handling coupled with great refinement and it is a brilliant combination of a sporting saloon coupled with the luxury of a limo.

Land Rover Range Rover

The new Land Rover Range Rover is another great British car produced by the Jaguar Land Rover team who currently produce 10 different models of car in the UK. The new Range Rover won best luxury car at the What Car? Car of the Year Awards and it’s not difficult to see why. Not only does it offer brilliant on and off road capability and a luxury cabin unrivalled in the SUV sector, it’s also pretty fuel efficient too if you opt for the V6 diesel engine.

Honda CR-V

Honda produces three of its models, the Civic, CR-V and Jazz, but the Honda CR-V is our favourite when it comes to build, practicality and the fact it offers a family orientated car which is capable of ticking all the right boxes for SUV buyers. Designed for on-road rather than off-road use, it is a comfortable and easy to drive hatchback with plenty of interior space and a huge boot

BMW Mini

The best of British list would not be the complete without our trusted BMW Mini on the list – a car which encompasses all things British in a fun and quirky way. It shies away from the stiff upper lip and embraces the fun side of us Brits. It’s incredibly fun to drive and sports a cabin which is full of exciting gadgets to keep its passengers amused. But the Mini is not just a show car, it’s a good drive too offering great handling as well as impressive fuel efficiency.

Aston Martin Vantage

Last but definitely not least is the Aston Martin Vantage which is our pick of the Aston Martin range and is built in Gaydon in Warwickshire. Who doesn’t fancy themselves as a James Bond driving around the streets of Britain in an Aston Martin? This particular model from Aston Martin looks fabulous and handles brilliantly too. The sounds from the V8 and V12 engines are enough to stir up even the most sombre of drivers and its secret weapon if that it’s got the style and performance to match.
