Iconic British Cars: Competition WinnerBack

Congratulations to Charlotte Castle, who won our June competition to find Britain’s most iconic car of the last 60 years. She wins an iPad – which is also an icon of British design, having been penned by Sir Jonathan Ive.

While we had many witty, memorable entries (some of which can be read here) the final draw was a purely random selection. Charlotte chose the Jaguar E-Type:

“Sleek, smooth, redolent of the swinging Kings Road of the 60’s and everything glamourous about London. The E-type Jag today stops traffic and turns head. She’s the supermodel of the motoring world and unlike a pretty young girl, this beauty will never lose her looks”

It’s hard to disagree with her assessment of the car! Overall, the most popular choice – by some margin – was the Mini Cooper S.

Congratulations to Charlotte on her win, and we look forward to your entries for our next competition (which is currently undergoing a little revision, so check back later this week)
