I was using cash, and was dismayed how often the sales man had to go off and confirm with a senior member of the team who that I didn’t want finance, that I didn’t want extra insurance that I didn’t want a warranty, that I didn’t want a maintenance package. It was ridiculous. Then to sign numerous times that I was paying cash and confirm I wasn’t trading in a car actually became a joke between my son and I. I will be buying a car for my daughter soon and will be buying with cash with no trade in, and I will not be buying from Bristol St motors as I couldn’t expose myself to,such an experience again "

"This was possibly my worst car buying experience in 60 years of purchasing various vehicles. The salesman was very pleasant and efficient, BUT the car was found to be lacking an Owners Manual and service book when I reached home. I also realised there was no spare ignition key. Trying to obtain these necessitated several phone calls, between which I was posted the books, only to find that the service book was totally blank , and unstamped. I also requested a spare wheel and was made to feel as though I was asking for the Earth. ( A shredded tyre when touring the Highlands and Islands of Scotland is NOT recommended). This buying saga was only redeemed by the intervention of Les Moyes, the used vehicle Manager. who not only delivered the spare wheel but sorted out the service book debacle.I very much doubt I will be visiting Carlisle any time in the future, and if I require another Vauxhall car it will not be obtained from BSMs. "

It came without car mats and spare wheel which after making enquiries of my own I found out the car had initially had these so had been removed and as yet I have not had any after sales contact. It appears once you say YES to purchase all customer service goes out of the window"

"Terrible experience. Agreed a purchase of a Vauxhall Corsa and was due to have the vehicle delivered on Tuesday 15th August by 9am. By 1pm the vehicle hadn't arrived so contacted the dealership to be told that the vehicle had been broken down and had been taken to the closest Bristol Street dealership to me. I was told that my vehicle would be made the top priority to be dealt with that day. When I tried to contact Bristol Street Carlisle at 4.45pm no one was available to speak to me and so I contacted the dealrship that the vehicle had been taken to and was told that the vehicle had not even been looked at by a mechanic. So much for the vehicle being the top priority. The following day I was contacted twice by Bristol Street to be told that no progress had been made with the vehicle and they did not know when my vehicle would be ready. I was told that some "gestures of goodwill" would be made though for the delay with the vehicle. On the Thursday morning (2 days after I should have received the vehicle) I emailed Bristol Street Motors with proposals for what would need for me to carry on with my purchase including discounts and extended warranties or a proposal that I could purchase a different vehicle. This did not even attract a response from either the sales manager, general manager or chief executive. I rang Bristol Street at 1pm to be told that they thought the problem was the coil pack but they still did not give me a time that the vehicle would be ready. I was also told that the "gestures of goodwill" would be nothing more than one free service of the vehicle. I considered that this was a pretty derisory offer considering that it would appear that at best the vehicle would not be arriving for still probably another day and so would be 3 days late at best so decided to cancel my purchase of the vehicle. I was told that the General manager Will Morgan would still ring me to apologise for the situation. 3 weeks later he still has not done this. I did receive a pathetically insincere apology by email from Robert Forrester the chief executive of Bristol Streets parent company Vertu Motors. I have since received a letter though from them thanking me for buying a vehicle from them (which I haven't) and trying to sell me a servicing plan. I would avoid this company as at various times in this whole process I've been left feeling that I was ignored and lied to by them."

We decided to go and look at a specific Mokka but was approached by Kyle Gibson to see what we were looking for. We hadn't realised that the car wasn't in stock at Carlisle but Kyle explained that he could get the details up on screen. He showed us round a model on the forecourt so we could see what it was like and mentioned that their was an offer (i think 0 % interest). We really liked the car on the forecourt and Kyle asked did we want to go for a test drive. Loved the car due to wife having arthritis it was ideal for her getting in and out. Went back in to discuss options with Kyle and decided to buy the car on the forecourt. We have ended up with a nearly new car, with low mileage which is absolutely perfect for us as a family and has been fantastic so far. We want to say a big Thank you to Kyle Gibson @ Carlisle for being an absolute star through the whole process, not once was he pushy, overbearing etc. He explained all the paperwork clearly etc. We would definitely go back to him for our next car - although he is young and only in the early stages of his career Kyle will go far in his career as he has the right attitude and excellent customer service skills.
