Best superminis for mumsBack

Superminis are a popular choice for mums, particularly those who are looking for a cost effective car offering lower running costs and better fuel efficiency.

In fact, sales of city cars and superminis have increased significantly in the past couple of years due to the fact that more people are downsizing from more costly larger motors in favour of something smaller and cheaper.

Superminis are a great option for mums with one or two children, and unlike in the past, most superminis are now built with enough room to house a standard sized pram and/or a reasonable level of luggage. In fact, I drive a Volkswagen Polo and I find that I can not only fit in the buggy, but also a family-sized shop, plus two kids!

For those of you that are unsure which are the best supermini cars to go for, the Trusted Dealers have put down a list of their favourites to help you out when it comes to making that all important decision.

Ford Fiesta: Prices from £2,424.00

The Ford Fiesta is currently the most popular car purchased within the UK and it’s not difficult to see why. It not only looks stylish, it sports a comfortable attractive with plenty of features offered as standard. Its main attraction is that it is cheap to run and comes with an affordable price tag.

Volkswagen Polo: Prices from £1,994.00

The Volkswagen Polo is a popular choice of supermini as it sports a reliable, prestigious badge which enables it its value exceedingly well. The Polo is also surprisingly roomy for a car of its size and although you’ll pay a slight premium for it against other similar cars, we think it’s worth the money.

Fiat 500: Prices from £5,495.00

If you’ve always fancied a Mini but have not been keen on its price tag then the Fiat 500 might be the answer. It’s a fun, quirky little car which has all the characteristics of a Mini minus the price tag. You can even get a convertible one, and you’ll find that running costs are nice and low on this attractive little motor.

Vauxhall Corsa: Prices from £2,389.00

The Vauxhall Corsa remains an extremely popular, good value supermini. Step inside and you’ll find a comfortable, roomy cabin, and there is a great selection of different engines to choose from all of which are sparky and fun to drive.

BMW Mini: Prices from £4479.00

The BMW Mini is the ultimate supermini and if you can afford the price tag then you’ll never look back. It has all the quirky elements you’d expect from a car from this prestigious brand. Get behind the wheel and you’re in for a thrilling ride from a sure and cable engine, and its high residual value makes it even more attractive on the purse strings.

Honda Jazz: Prices from £2990.00

If you’re thinking about purchasing a larger car but cannot afford the price tag then the Honda Jazz is the next best option. It offers the space and versatility of a much larger car, so if you are looking for a supermini which will comfortably house all your kids, equipment, shopping and maybe even your dog, this is the right choice for you.
