There are plenty of motoring apps available to download on your mobile phone to ensure that you have permanent access to up to date information wherever you go, whether you are stuck in a traffic jam, hunting for a cheap parking spot or looking for the best service station in the area.

The team at Trusted Dealers has listed ten of their favourite motoring apps below, most of which are free or inexpensive, meaning there is no excuse not to download them and use them!

AA Parking – this free iPhone and Android app was voted one of the 500 best apps in the world by the Sunday Times and it’s not hard to see why as it offers people an easy way to locate the cheapest and most convenient parking spots in their local area.

GB Road Atlas – this app ensures that wherever you are in the country, you are never without an Ordinance Survey road map covering the entire British Isles. It offers clear mapping and functional features, and it is absolutely free to download too.

Glass’s Motoring Guide – this free app offers an expert valuation on any car you may be considering buying, while you’re looking at it. Alternatively, you can also find out how much your current vehicle is worth before listing it for sale.

Premier Inn Mobile – This free app is invaluable for company car drivers as it allows you to search for the nearest hotels available in your area as well as make a booking.

Fill That Hole – if you’re sick of pot holes then this free app by CTC cyclist’s charity allows you to photograph pot holes with your phone and then it sends the details to the relevant authorities.

RAC Traffic – this free app is able to display incidents, delays and roadworks for the entire UK and it allows you to view any problems on the in-built Google map as well as find options for avoiding them, making your journey as hassle free as possible.

Road Trip Lite – a fast, easy and free app for tracking your mileage and fuel economy. It simply provides details of how much you’ve spent in a day, or on an individual journey as required.

BMW Parking Assistant – this free and clever app offers a a parking time reminder so you’ll never have an expired ticket again. It calculates the time needed to get back to your car, as well as the quickest route there.

Petrol Prices Pro – although this app will cost you £2.99 initially, it is designed to save you heaps of money in the long run by granting you access to a premium database of petrol station locations and prices in any area of the UK.

Motorway Services UK – costing just £0.69, this app provides details of where motorway services are located, who operates them, which shops and restaurants are on site as well as rating them on a scale of 1-5.
