GEM introduces new App for breakdownsBack

GEM Motoring Assist has launched a new App for iPhone and Android phone which provides customers with added reassurance and assistance whilst out on the roads this winter.

GEM, a company providing breakdown cover to motorists, is offering customers the chance to download the new App for free from iTunes and the Android market. The new App features a user-friendly menu which allows visitors to access useful tools such as ‘Traffic Updates’ and ‘Assist Me’ GPS locator.

Breaking down is the one thing most motorists dread, and it can be made even worse in the cold, winter months. The new GEM app provides motorists with peace of mind so that when they next head off in the car, in the event of a breakdown, Gem can be there with a simple touch of a button. The advantage of the ‘Assist Me’ tool is that motorists’ exact locations can be easily identified and the function will also put drivers in direct contact with a member of the GEM Motoring Assist contact centre.

The ‘Traffic Update’ function on the new App will also help to improve driver’s confidence as it allows motorists to view traffic alerts for the journey ahead and as a result, plan the most direct route possible to avoid any potential hazards such as traffic jams, accidents and road works.

Finally, the new GEM App allows customers to renew their breakdown cover at the click of a button. Customers can simply tap the ‘My Renewals’ feature to receive a reminder of when their motoring cover is up for renewal. You can also keep up to date with GEM Motoring Assist news, which allows visits to take part in polls competitions and provides access to useful and important driving –related information.
