Dacia has just confirmed the price of its best new car to buy, the Sandero supermini, and at £5,995, it has been compared to the price of a similar model of Ford Fiesta back in 1989!
The Dacia Sandero supermini is a brand new stylish five door car which is capable of transporting five people and their luggage in comfort. The popular Romanian brand has gone from strength to strength since it was taken over by Renault back in 1999, so much so that for the past eight years it has been the fastest-growing automotive brand in Europe.
In fact, sales of Dacia cars rose from just £5,000 in 2004 to a huge £350,000 in 2011, and the Sandero supermini is now the second vehicle to have been produced by the company in left-hand drive, following the increasing success of the Duster SUV which collected its first national award with Scottish Car of the Year this month.
The Sandero supermini comes in three different versions, the Access, Ambience and Laureate. The Access, priced at just £5,995 is top of its class in terms of best new car price, space and equipment, offering features such as 15” steel wheels, power assisted steering, a 60/40 split folding rear seat and daytime running lights as standard as well as plenty of safety features such as ABS and EBA plus driver, passenger and front side air bags. Some of the additional optional extras available include a 7-inch touchscreen MediaNav and leather upholstery.
The cabin of the Sandero is decked out in cloth upholstery which is combined with a smart, modern looking interior, and it offers one of the largest boots in its class, holding 320 litres, or 1,200 litres with the rear seats laid flat, meaning it is highly appealing to those who are looking for a family car in which to house a buggy, weekly shop and maybe even a set of golf clubs.
Not only is the Dacia Sandero one of the best affordable cars to buy, it is also economical to run, offering a choice of three frugal engines, including the new three-cylinder 0.9TCe 90 petrol and 1.5 dCi 90 which both have an ECO mode and are exempt from road tax. The four-cylinder 1.2 petrol delivers 47.9mpg on the combined cycle with CO2 emissions of 137g/km and falls into tax band E, meaning road tax is just £10 per month, and with five and seven year extended warranties also available, the Sandero really is one of the best affordable cars to buy.
Pre-ordering for the Dacia Sandero begins on 22nd October in Dacia Retailers and on www.dacia.co.uk, with demo and display Sanderos in Dacia Retailers from January 2013. Customer deliveries are expected to begin later the same month.
