Kia pro_ceedThe eagerly awaited new Kia pro_cee’d goes on sale today.

Kia’s most anticipated new model, the high performance three-door pro_cee’d GT is set to go on sale today priced from £19,995.

The new pro_cee’d GT is Kia’s first high-performance car designed to deliver an enthusiastic driving experience to its occupants whist still maintaining the practicality, affordability and comfort we have come to love about the increasingly popular Kia brand. The five-door version will follow in early 2014.

The new Kia pro_cee’d is powered b y a turbo-charged version of Kia’s 1.6-litre direct-injection petrol engine and offers the performance you would expect from a hot hatchback whilst still maintaining everyday usability and civility. It can accelerate from 0-60mph in 7.4 seconds and has a top speed of 143mph.

The pro_cee’d is offered with two trims, the GT and the GT Teck which are both very well kitted out in terms of equipment. There is also a limited-production launch model known as the GT 1st Edition to mark’s Kia’s entry into the world of performance hatchbacks. Just 500 examples of this special car are being produced, with only 50 earmarked for the UK.

The all-black five seat cabin contains Recaro sports seats as standard for the driver and front passenger and there is a power-adjustable lumbar support fitted to both front seats. Although the GT is the entry-level version of the pro_cee’d it contains plenty of equipment and features as standard to include plenty of unique styling touches as well as a new front and rear bumper, side sill mouldings, dual exhausts, ‘ice-cube’ LED daytime running lights and 18-inch graphite grey ground-effect alloy wheels with red brake callipers.

Further standard features include air conditioning, cruise control and speed limiter, automatic lights, cornering lights, reversing sensors, Bluetooth phone connectivity with music streaming and voice recognition, a six speaker radio/CD player with iPod connectivity, a unique ‘GT’ TFT LCD dash binnacle display, electric windows, electrically operated and heated folding mirrors with puddle lights and privacy glass on the rear windows and tailgate.

The comprehensive safety specification includes Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), anti-lock brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BAS), six airbags with a cut-off switch for the front passenger’s seat, a seat-belt reminder warning, impact-sensing door unlocking and ISOFIX child-seat mounting points.

The ‘GT Tech’ adds even more exciting features to include a seven-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation, European mapping and full UK postcode recognition, a reversing camera display integrated into the navigation screen and heated front seats.The ‘GT’ and ‘GT Tech’ are available in a choice of three colours – Track Red and Fusion White metallic, both of which are exclusive to the GT, as well as Phantom Black metallic.

The pro_cee’d GT, like every Kia, comes with its unqiue seven-year, 100,000-mile transferable warranty which is currently unrivalled by any other manufacture warranty on the market. Servicing is required every 12 months or 10,000 miles whichever comes soonest.
