Passenger car sales in the European Union grew by 6.2 per cent to 1.06m units in January, according to figures released on Tuesday by Acea. There were strong performances from several of VW’s mass-market rivals, with the Ford, Opel / Vauxhall and Fiat brands each posting double-digit increases in January.
