This week saw the publication of the NFDA Summer 2016 Dealer Attitude Survey. It is interesting to see that the relationship between dealers and manufacturers recorded an average score of 6.2 out of 10, which shows an increase of 0.1 points compared to winter, but suggests that there is still potential room for improvement.
New car and commercial figures released this week show that new car registrations rose 3.3% in August totalling 81,640 units. The market remains strong year to date (+2.8%). Light commercial vehicles sales also grew by 6.3% compared to last year, with a total of 15,385 vans and light trucks. ACEA (European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association) has revealed Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) registrations figures for the second quarter of 2016. AFVs’ sales have remained stable in the EU (+0.6%), but they have showed a robust growth of 18.4% in the UK, second only to Spain (+84.4%).
