“It is positive to see the commercial vehicle market is continuing to stabilise, with an overall increase of 22.7% as we approach the end of 2014”, said Sue Robinson, commenting on the SMMT’s van and truck registration figures.
New total commercial vehicle figures released today show overall sales were up 22.7% in November and up 10.9% year-to-date. Van sales increased by 19.4% last month, whilst truck demand saw a significant growth of 39.3% – pushing year-to-date volumes to 44,867, 6.5% ahead of 2012.
Robinson continued, “The November commercial vehicle market has continued with the growing momentum we’ve seen over the past four months.
“The year-to-date CV market was up 10.9% at 294,991 units and on track to top 300,000 units – the sectors best performance in five years.
“Van sales rose 19.4% in November with 22,647 registrations and 11.7% growth over the year so far and the most positive increase came from the truck sector”.
