The DIESEL DEBATE: leaflet and poster available to NFDA members to educate consumersBack

With the confusion and media speculation surrounding diesel and emissions, NFDA and its members continue to work hard to help consumers understand the whole debate.

NFDA has produced a folding leaflet and a poster which members can use to help their customers understand the whole ‘diesel debate’. The aim is to clarify confusion surrounding the issue.

The leaflet analyses the different types of pollutants including NOx, CO2 and particulates, and shows from what sources these derive.  The role of diesel is examined with a clear differentiation between old diesel and modern Euro 6 and the different impact they have on air pollution.  This demonstrates how modern Euro 6 diesel cars cannot be compared to older diesel, as they emit around half of the NOx and a fifth of the particulates of diesel cars built before 2009.

NFDA members can use the leaflet to help consumers find the car that best suits their driving habits.  Depending on the driver’s behaviour and type of commute and journeys, modern Euro 6 diesel vehicles can represent the most efficient option.

The leaflet is available for download in PDF format from the NFDA website:

Please note, when you print the leaflet you must select ‘flip the page on the short edge’ so that the leaflet can be folded correctly.
