During this period, the Department for Work and Pensions systems which integrate with DVLA will be unable to verify National Insurance (NI) numbers.
What this means for companies or employers who need to check driver records
Although drivers affected by the disruption period will not be able to create a new check code during this period, the ‘Check Driving Licence’ online service will continue to operate. This will allow car hire companies or employers to access driver records using any check codes generated prior to the disruption period. As you know drivers can now generate a check code which remains valid for a 21 day period. In addition they can have up to 15 active check codes in play at any one time.
DVLA’s Premium Line and Contact Centre will continue to operate as normal during their standard opening hours (Mon-Fri 0800-1900, Sat 0800-1400) to provide drivers, companies and employers with the normal checking and confirmation service.
What this means for drivers
