The Financial Ombudsman (FOS) are pleased to be able to tell dealers about the outline of their 2014 programme of ‘meet the ombudsman’ roadshows for ‘smaller businesses’ has now been published on their website. To view it click here.
Those of you who came to last November’s Smaller Businesses Forum will recall, the FOS wanted to change and improve the roadshows this year, making them less ‘top-down’ and more participative. In March the FOS will be running four pilot events to ‘road-test’ and then fine-tune their new offer, before they roll out the formal programme from April onwards.
FOS New Roadshows
The FOS will be taking their revised roadshow to 21 different locations around the UK, from April through to December with a break in August. Each half-day session will have up to 40 places and last three hours. In some locations the FOS will be able to offer both morning and afternoon sessions, so that more local businesses can come along.
Additionally, in a few locations the afternoon slot will be taken up with a special PPI workshop for those (relatively) smaller businesses now faced with numbers of complaints about the mis-selling of payment protection insurance. To read about these online click here.
