INTERMITTENT OCCURRENCE OF MOT TEST CERTIFICATEBack

Mot12We have had reports from members that sometimes the VT20 pass certificate does not date on to the correct expiry date if the customer has some time left on their old test record, when issued with the new MOT computer system.

We have discussed this with DVSA and they are aware that a small percentage of test records did not merge correctly from the old ATOS system with the new MOT database.

They have a fix scheduled in the next few days and they are sending instructions to DVSA local offices that they can issue replacement certificates upon request with the correct expiry date.
It appears though that the record will not update automatically.

Any members who have had any of their customers affected by this should ask them to contact their local DVSA office, however they will need to wait 2 weeks before doing this to allow the necessary changes required. If needs be they can have this change applied any time before the test record expires.
