Welcome Note from Sue RobinsonBack

Dear Colleague,

The deadline of 25 May 2018 for all organisations to comply with the new General Data Protection Regulation is fast approaching – it is crucial that all organisations have a successful GDPR implementation programme in place to ensure that they can continue to use and share data. We continue to urge all our members to take the whole GDPR issue very seriously and contact us if they need any further guidance on the issue.

On Thursday, NFDA’s parent body, the RMI, held its annual dinner at the Landmark Hotel in London. RMI Chairman Peter Johnson opened the evening with an insightful speech outlining the main issues currently facing the UK automotive industry. Andrew Neil, guest speaker, gave an update on the uncertain political landscapes, not only in the UK, but also Europe and the US. Please find more details below.

This week, we met with a Chinese delegation of automotive professionals and Government representatives. It was interesting to discuss the different issues that our industry has to deal with in different countries and exchange views on what the future trends facing our sector are likely to be. More information in the news.

Following last year’s success, AM Live 2017 is back on 9 November at the NEC, Birmingham. Come and see the NFDA team at The Hub for an update on current industry issues including GDPR, our Dealer and Consumer Attitude Surveys, as well as our project with Get My First Job to attract young people to the retail automotive sector.
