Used car site expands marketplace including market-first photo-based part-exchange platform
Leading used car website NFDA Trusted Dealers is launching an exclusive new car offering with a unique part-exchange model, reinforcing its promise of offering customers the safest place to buy any car online.
Based on its new research, which revealed that nearly two thirds (65%) of new car buyers value a site that offers new cars and part-exchange when looking for a vehicle, the site has created a unique and complete online part-exchange solution. The platform – Appraise My Car – puts consumers in control of the part-exchange, producing a tailored value based on real dealer valuations, rather than industry data.
Customers looking to buy a new car with a part-exchange can upload details of their vehicle, including pictures and descriptions, along with the model they are looking to purchase, to the site, which produces a valuation report. This is then sent to dealers with details of what customers are looking for to allow them to find the very best offer for the customer.
The survey of 1,000 new car buyers, which was conducted by Censuswide in May 2017, also revealed that half of buyers would prefer to part-exchange via a dealer when looking to buy a new car, with the biggest frustrations faced by motorists when part-exchanging in the past including not knowing if they were getting a good deal (37%).
Trusted Dealers commissioned the survey to help inform its new car service, designed to offer the most transparent and trusted part-exchange platform on the market, benefiting both consumers and dealers by opening more effective and reliable pricing of part-exchange vehicles. The service protects customers’ personal details until they are ready to talk to the dealer about the next steps of the process.
The offering means Trusted Dealers now provides a complete service for customers looking to buy a car online, with the security of purchasing from a franchised dealer. It will also help dealers keep up the pace during quarter four by increasing sales leads and enquiries from consumers. The new service comes at no fee for Trusted Dealers members and looks set to help dealers looking to dispose of existing new car inventory and hit Q4 targets.
Neil Addley, NFDA Trusted Dealers Managing Director, said: ″Following our success with used cars, it made sense to break into the new car market too, with an innovative service that keeps costs down for dealers in order for them to pass these savings onto consumers, who also get a hassle-free part-exchange experience.
“Our new car offering will strengthen our promise of being the safest place to buy a car online for customers, it will also help deliver high quality leads and increased sales for dealers and improve profitability, making it the perfect solution for both our dealer members and customers looking for a good deal when buying online.”
Trusted Dealers is part of the National Franchised Dealer Association (NFDA), one of the UK’s leading motor industry bodies. The site, which lists cars from the country’s top dealerships, offers complete peace of mind for those buying a car online.
