This Wednesday 8 February sees the Chancellor deliver the Budget 2017. HM Treasury has responded to our Budget submission letter and confirmed that NFDA’s concerns and issues will be taken into consideration. Please find the response and a summary of our submission in the news.
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has confirmed the deadline of 29 August 2019 for making payment protection insurance complaints. This means that consumers seeking compensation over mis-sold PPI will have to make their claims before 29 August 2019. The NFDA supports the deadline as it will give certainty to dealers.
We have been following the Northern Ireland election. While first results have already been revealed, official figures are expected on Saturday. We will be monitoring further developments to engage and establish a relationship with the relevant members and departments.

Finally, this week we heard the sad news of the death of Jaap Timmer, former chairman of CECRA’s European Car Dealers (ECD) trade body, well respected figure in the industry and also a strong supporter of the NFDA, we send our condolences to his family and friends.
