NADA 2014Back

NADA1The 2014 NADA Convention in New Orleans was well attended by the international dealer community. Of the 22,000 delegates some 2,300 travelled from outside the USA.

What is always interesting about NADA is being able to compare and contrast the fortunes of US dealer with their counterparts in the UK. Similar to the UK, US auto dealers had a good year in 2013 with a rising market, as we saw here in the UK. Dealers also appear to be facing many of the same issues that UK dealers currently face, such as rising dealer standards and investment requirements from manufacturers, and threats from regulators to make consumer credit harder and less competitive to provide for consumers.

As ever, NADA remains very relative for UK dealers. It gives an insight into the future of automotive retailing, whilst show-casing many new ideas that dealers in the UK can apply to their businesses.

And finally, it was a fantastic opportunity to see Hilary Clinton dodge the question on everybody’s lips – will she run for the Presidency in 2016 !!
