HRBe Ready for Higher Wage Costs

On 1st October 2014 the national minimum wage rates increased – the adult rate (all workers aged 21 and over) is now £6.50 per hour.

However, there is a general election looming and the major political parties are talking about increases with the Conservatives suggesting the adult rate rises to £7.00 per hour and the Labour party likely to go for £8.00 per hour.

Nothing is certain, but it may be wise to start planning for a significant rise in wage bills before the end of 2015.
