Suzuki dealers heading for record salesBack

SuzukiSuzuki dealers will enjoy a record year for new car sales with the brand predicting it will close 2014 on 37,000 units.

Network profitability is also outperforming the rest of the market with an average return on sale of 2.4%, with solus dealers achieving 3%. ASE’s industry average is currently tracking at 1.51%

Suzuki’s confidence follows it closing its strongest ever quarter with sales of 11,705, powered by September’s 14.7% rise in sales.

Suzuki’s sales and marketing director Dale Wyatt said the high sales had been achieved in a tightening market.

“While this was the biggest ever quarter in our history, September and the quarter seemed to be toughening a little bit. Talking to dealers with other brands it looks as though customers are taking a bit of persuading to part with their money at the moment. It’s a big market but it’s hard and competitive.”

The brand currently has 148 dealers with open points in Birmingham, Aberdeen and Blackpool. Return on sales across the network is 2.4%, against ASE’s industry average of 1.35%.
