Welcome note from Sue RobinsonBack

SueRobinson2Dear Colleagues,

The new car and commercial vehicle sales figures were released for January this week.  It is extremely positive to see that the car market continued its upward trend – making it the best month for new car registrations since 2005 – registrations were up 2.9% on the same month in 2015.  In the CV sector, registrations declined by -4.3% following five consecutive months of growth. If you would like to receive a copy of the registration figures please email louise.woods@rmif.co.uk.

Following feedback from members, the NFDA has raised our issues with the HM Treasury concerning franchised dealers in our 2016 Budget submission. A link to download the full submission is included in this week’s news. We hope the issues highlighted will be acknowledged on the 16 March.

Our NFDA Driving Digital event will be taking place next week on 11 February 2016 at Villa Park, Birmingham.  Our line-up of speakers includes Nick King, Insight Director at Auto Trader and Scott Sinclair from Google. There are still a few places remaining, click here to secure your chance to be there!

Finally, this week’s MILS legal update covers the Removal of Company Car from an Employee on Sick Leave and the benefits of having HR processes in place. A reminder that as part of your NFDA membership, you have access to our legal helpline for any issues relating to HR and queries into changes in legislation. Please call our helpline on 01788 538303.
