First of all, I would like to welcome Mark Squires who this week took on the role as Chairman of the NFDA. I would also like to thank Peter Jones who has held the position for the past two years, he has been a tremendous support.
Results of the Consumer Attitude Survey for the second half of 2016 were revealed this week. The survey provided a number of insights that can help dealers better understand what customers are looking for when getting their vehicle serviced. We intend to commission the survey twice yearly to demonstrate trends of consumers’ perceptions and allow dealers to shape future strategies accordingly. Despite the new cap on credit card fees, we believe that the introduction of percentage charges on debit card transactions is uneconomical for our industry. Therefore, we have contacted the Payments Systems Regulator calling for a dispensation for the automotive industry. Please see the news for more information.
Finally, we would like to congratulate the award winners at the Autumn Ball and thank all those who attended and participated to raise 1,230 for BEN, the automotive charity.
