Welcome note from Sue RobinsonBack

Dear Colleague

Last week I attended the NADA Convention in Las Vegas where I met with a number of dealers and NFDA’s counterparts from across the world.  Discussions showed that the issues that dealers face with their manufacturers outside the UK are very similar to ours.  The convention was attended by over 20,000 dealers from across the globe including 1,500 delegates from Europe.

The NADA convention proved to be, once again, a very worthwhile event which provides an ideal opportunity for networking, learning, sharing ideas and comparing how the franchised automotive retail industry works in the US.

A number of interesting workshops, over the four days of the event, covered topics such as digital marketing, best practices, and the dealership business model of the future.  The infamous Glenn Mercer also gave an update on the NADA Dealership of Tomorrow : 2025 report.  It was particularly interesting to hear his insights into what to expect in vehicle retailing over the next decade.

I would once again like to encourage members to visit our new careers portal http://www.drivemycareer.co.uk/  This is our unique initiative to attract young people into the motor industry as a career.  For more information please contact louise.woods@rmif.co.uk  and see a full outline of this initiative in this week’s news.

Finally, there are still places available at the NFDA Spring Ball taking place on Saturday 21 April at the prestigious Grove Resort in Hertfordshire. We are pleased to announce our after dinner speaker will be ex-England Rugby player and Dancing on Ice champion Kyran Bracken. For more information contact louise.woods@rmif.co.uk

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter.

NFDA is your trade association: we represent, you benefit. If you need any assistance, please contact us on the member helpline 01788 538303.
