Waking up this morning to the news that Scotland has decided to say no, will probably still be a topic of gossip at the forthcoming Party Conferences. On that note, I will be attending the conferences and meeting with a variety of MPS, Lords and MEPs including Richard Burden MP, Shadow Transport Minister, Andrew Miller MP, Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group, Baroness Cohen and Richard Howitt MEP. Some of the topics we will be discussing include youth employment and apprenticeship reform. We will also raise our concerns in relation to the Consumer Bill of Rights and the limited ability for a dealer to repair or replace goods. In addition we will discuss the European Commission’s consultation on unfair trading practices and also the FCA’s Add-Ons Insurance market study.
Finally, I will be in Brussels next week attending the European Car Dealer day. I will also be meeting with a number of MEPs and European trade bodies to discuss Unfair Trading Practices and to find areas of commonality.
