Welcome note from Sue RobinsonBack

SueRobinson2Dear Colleague

This week saw the news that UK car sales in 2013 recorded their best year since 2007 with 2.26 million vehicles registered for 2013. The 2013 total was boosted by a 23.76% rise in sales in December. The commercial vehicles sector figures showed overall sales were up 66.6% in December and up 14.7% year to date.

This week members of the NFDA F & I Working Group joined me at a meeting with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to discuss the changes with the transfer of consumer credit from the OFT to the FCA. It was a very constructive meeting and discussion centred around a number of issues of particular concern to members – licence categories, appointed representatives and fees. An ongoing dialogue has been established between NFDA and the FCA so any queries please do contact us. We will be keeping you updated on the forthcoming changes.

This week you will have received the NFDA Dealer Attitude Survey to complete. I would like to encourage you to return your questionnaires as the better response rate, the more meaningful the results.

Sue Robinson, Director
