Welcome note from Sue RobinsonBack

Dear Colleagues

The NFDA is now working on its response to the FCA’s GAP insurance consultation. We have detailed below a summary of the consultation and the FCA’s proposed remedies. Any feedback would be appreciated from members before the end of March when we will need to submit our response.

In addition, this week we have included a briefing note on the Consumer Bill of Rights and how this may impact franchised dealers. We will be working with the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) on their guidance for the industry to ensure a workable solution for dealers.

Finally, further news from the DVLA regarding cherished number transfers for new vehicles. The DVLA initially intended to have an on-line system for cherished number transfers go live in January, however this has now been delayed to the end of February. We will keep members informed in case there are any further delays and we continue to lobby for an on-line system for cherished number transfers which we are hopefully will come into effect later this year.
