Welcome note from Sue RobinsonBack

SueRobinson2Dear Colleagues,

New car and commercial vehicle sales figures were released this week for January. It is extremely positive to see that the new car market in 2015 has got off to a strong start. New car sales figures released this week show sales rose by 6.7% over 2014, and January marked the ninth consecutive month of growth in the commercial vehicle market which was up 23.2%. The new car market across Europe is also seeing signs of recovery with Germany this week posting a 2.5% increase in new car sales in January, as well as Spain and France who posted 27.5% and 5.9% increases respectively. FullSizeRenderI recently attended the NADA convention in the USA attended by 23,000 dealers, trade associations and affiliates attended from all over the globe. It was interesting to hear that issues with manufacturers and government regulators span the globe – NADA and AADA incurring much the same demands and enforcements as the UK. A visit to the British Motor Car Distributors LTD was a real insight and amazing building with a long history.

Again, I want to emphasise the NFDA is your association and lobby’s on your behalf. If there are issues that affect your business and you feel need addressing, please contact us. We are there to support and guide you!
