Welcome note from Sue RobinsonBack

SueRobinson2Dear Colleagues,

The NFDA’s sister association the National Association of Motor Auctions (NAMA), has published its monthly car and LCV data reports this week for November. The car report shows the average sales price in November increased by 3.6% from October 2015 to £5,637 from £5,441, whilst the LCV report shows that the average value of used LCV’s across the board increased 0.2% from £4,910 to £4,921 in November. For a full copy of the reports please email

We have just completed our final round of quarterly NFDA regional dealer forums.  Some interesting discussions took place on the new and used car market and it was useful to see how dealer’s views were fairing around the country.  Other topics discussed included finance and insurance issues, MOTs and aftersales, HR issues, GAP insurance, log book loans and a lobbying update.  Dates for our 2016 forums are now on the NFDA website so if you would like to attend any of the meetings please contact

The Chancellors’ 2016 Budget will be announced on 16 March and the NFDA will be submitting our views by the deadline of 29 January.  If members have anything specific they would like us to include in our submission, please do let us know by 22 January.

Please note that the NFDA helpline will be available as usual on the 30 & 31 December on 01788 530303 should you require any advice and assistance.

Finally, I would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and prosperous 2016.  Thank you for all your support during 2015.

Sue Robinson, NFDA Director
