Welcome note from Sue RobinsonBack

Dear colleague,

Today we held our fourth workshop on GDPR, another extremely well attended, informative and insightful workshop.

We will be holding two additional workshops looking at the more specific issue of contract remediation, a crucial element for GDPR compliance for franchised dealers. The focus will be on how to review third-party contracts, including those with manufacturers, finance houses and dealer management systems. The workshops will take place on Thursday 1 February and Friday 9 March at the Warwick Hilton. If you would like to attend please email .

We have set up a dedicated GDPR helpline for NFDA members. For queries and advice on GDPR, please ring 01788 538 304.

Next week, we will be in Warrington on Tuesday, York on Wednesday and Bristol on Thursday for the December Regional Meetings. GDPR, the relationship between retailers and manufacturers, new and used car market as well as any potential finance, employment and HR issues, will be the main topics of discussion. Please find more information about dates and venues in today’s news. If you would like to attend any of the regionals, please contact

The NFDA event of the year will be back soon!  NFDA Spring Ball will take place on Saturday 21 April 2018 at the Grove Resort, Hertfordshire. The Ball provides unique networking opportunities, good food, fine wine, and first-class entertainment. TV presenter Mark Durden-Smith, will be our compere for the evening and the NFDA Award Ceremony will also be held at the Ball.

Finally, it was really sad to hear the news of the death of Tony Willard, past editor of AM. Many of you have been interviewed by Tony and on a personal note he has been of great help and support. Sympathy to the family.

NFDA is your trade association and we want to hear from you. If you need any assistance, clarifications or would like to attend one of our forthcoming events, please contact us on 01788 538 303
