Welcome note from Sue RobinsonBack

Dear Colleague,

This week I had a further meeting with senior officials at DExEU (the Department for Exiting Europe) to follow up on previous discussions with them concerning Brexit and the potential impact on the automotive sector, in particular the retail sector.  They have requested, once again, further information on the investment etc of the sector.  Again, they acknowledged the number of employees and the investment made by retailers.  We will continue to work closely with them to ensure the best possible outcome in the Brexit negotiations.

The NFDA is promoting automotive careers with the launch of ‘Drive My Career – a unique and industry first platform powered by the NFDA.  The website is now live – visit www.drivemycareer.co.uk  Full details of this initiative are below and you can find out more by emailing info@drivemycareer.co.uk or call the NFDA helpline on 01788 538303.

The issue of multi-user vehicles remains a concern for members.  The NFDA has sought legal advice and is writing to the ASA to discuss their recent ruling and the concerns that we have with it.  There is a growing consensus that the ASA have gone beyond the law and this is setting a precedent that should not exist.
