The Vauxhall Meriva is a supermini-based multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) produced between May 2003 and early 2017. With a 'FlexSpace' interior, the Meriva can be configured to accommodate either two or three passengers in the second row, or to increase boot space by folding these away completely. The second generation of Meriva, named Meriva B, first went into production in 2010 and is a slightly larger version of its Meriva A predecessor. Within the MPV class, the Meriva directly rivals models such as the Nissan Note, Ford B-Max and Citroen C3 Picasso.

The engines on offer include a range of petrol and diesel units. Kicking off the range is the 100bhp 1.4-litre petrol engine, a good entry level unit capable of the 0-62mph sprint in 14.0 seconds and ideal for town driving. Upping this to the Turbo, available in 120bhp and 140bhp outputs, gives a more responsive performance and offers fuel economy of 46mpg and 42mpg respectively. The diesels include the incredibly efficient 75bhp 1.3-litre CDTi unit, which returns 58mpg and thanks to its low CO2 emissions is cheap to tax. The Meriva is a comfortable and relaxing car to drive, with light steering and stable handling.

The Meriva is neatly styled with a high-quality spacious interior. Clever rear-hinged back doors allow for easy access, which combined with the flexible second row seating makes the Meriva a very practical and versatile vehicle. The Life, S, Exclusiv, Energy, Tech-Line and SE trims give extensive options for personalisation to suit individual needs. The Meriva has a generous 397-litre boot with an underfloor compartment, and has been awarded a full five-star Euro NCAP safety test result, making it a safe and practical car.

The Vauxhall Meriva is a reliable family-friendly MPV, with easy rear passenger access and incredibly versatile cabin space.
