It’s all about peopleBack

240713 Trusted DealerLike any business, Trusted Dealers is reliant on good people and great relationships. Although we’re only a small team (to keep costs down) we’re lucky to have developed great relationships with our members and the NFDA which help us to build enduring trust and confidence.

Our focus for 2014 will be to continue to promote used cars and to add aftersales and the benefits of using a franchised dealer to this picture. We’re also working hard to develop What Car? Approved Used in partnership with Trusted Dealers and to build relationships within both NFDA and manufacturers to support this message.

The importance of getting the message out about franchised dealers was highlighted by the publicity around Citizens Advice Bureau and National Consumer Week. Used cars were the most complained about area according to Citizens Advice – but the fact is that whilst nearly half of used cars are sold by franchised dealers the level of complaints against franchised dealers was much lower than other sources.

Not that we are or should rest on our laurels. We’ve introduced a consumer helpline and are in the process of agreeing Standards to underpin the Trusted Dealers Ten Points of Difference on used cars and aftersales.

We’re investing more in content and public relations to reinforce these messages to consumers and have some really interesting plans for next year.

So back to people.

Finding the right people is probably the most important part of a leader’s role and so we’re launching a new jobs board for Trusted Dealers members. This will enable our members to post jobs on Trusted Dealers and a network of other jobs boards at no cost. Members then have the opportunity to upgrade to a wider selection of jobs boards including AM Online, Reed and Total Jobs. This new service is being launched in partnership with CV Wow who are market leaders in this field.

With more and more dealers choosing to become members of Trusted Dealers our continued focus on delivering low cost leads, promoting franchised dealers and our new jobs board we look forward to serving our members well in 2014.
